Things to do:

Tonquani has an outdoor swimming pool with loungers and umbrellas. Beach towels are provided, and light lunches and drinks can be ordered from the pool.

Local Attractions:

Knysna is one of the most beautiful quaint little towns along the Garden Route, and nestles between the impressive Outeniqua Mountains, the Indian Ocean and flanked by forests measuring some eighty thousand ha in size, which are managed to strict conservation principles. These forests are also home to the only forest elephants in South Africa. Knysna also has some unique but endangered species such as the Knysna seahorse, the Brenton Blue Butterfly, the delicate Pansy shell and the dwarf chameleon. A wonderful experience for adults and children would be a visit to Monkeyland, a multi-species sanctuary where primates roam freely through the forest. Guests will be taken on a hour long guided forest walk where more insight is given on the different primates which range from gibbons, lemurs, capuchins to squirrel monkeys – all enjoying a natural environment. No physical contact is allowed between humans and the primates. There are platforms where fruit and vegetables are provided as the forest does not provide enough natural food. Monkeyland is situated between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna. Take a ferry trip to Featherbed private nature reserve, do a spectacular tractor trip up the Western Heads and walk back through caves and along a beach to the restaurant for a delicious lunch under the milkwood trees. The Knysna Elephant Park aims to provide the best home possible to elephants in need of one. They have created a free-range controlled environment, which means that the elephants get to walk and browse in the fields as they would do in the wild. Your experience of the elephants will therefore be as natural as possible. The Daily Tour provides a shorter experience of meeting, feeding and interacting with the gentle giants. For longer experiences,they offer Elephant Back Rides or Walks, while the Exclusive Sunrise/Sunset Safari and Sundowners provide more private and intimate encounters.
